I love this job. As from 2008, what motivates me most as an independent reviewer is to assist colleagues, mostly statutory auditors and accountants, address and solve complex assurance, ethical, quality procedures, audit reporting and financial reporting dilemmas. Providing technical advice and direction, assessing an audit practice in comparison with industry best practices and reviewing audit files in an absolute independent manner is the cornerstone of my activity. These measures help statutory auditors identify and address their audit risks before they become compliance issues in the eyes of regulators.

My philosophy is to work with auditors to resolve accounting and audit issues as they arise, and not necessarily because they have been called for a Regulatory visit by the Quality Assurance Unit or others. Helping auditors identify and address audit risks before they become compliance issues, in the eyes of Regulators, is one of my key skills.

Auditors come in different sizes! With experience as a reviewer, I have worked with a wide range of clients in the audit and assurance field, from some of the largest firms in the country, to start-ups looking for providing first time assurance services, even on a part-time basis.

I believe in working in partnership with my clients to offer pragmatic solutions to help provide the right solutions to their particular size. Identifying these different needs and understanding those particular requirements is a critical part of offering advice and providing continual support and assistance.

My strength lies in building rapport and trust so I can offer the best advice and service possible. And this in an absolutely independent manner! I do not carry out any audit or other assurance engagements. Instead I focus my work and energy exclusively by carrying out reviews and helping fellow auditors keeping abreast of changes occurring in the profession.
